Aperitivo Hour

We've always preferred the notion of Aperitivo over the bastardised Happy Hour. Stealing from Italian bar/cafe culture, why not while away a whole afternoon and evening up to dinner with lower ABV drinks and good, neighbourly conversation? It's communal and life-affirming.

The crammed, pack 'em in ply them with strong, cheap hooch on a 2-4-1 Red Bull-a-ganza is a disappointingly unique US/UK phenomenon. The current curfew restrictions again shine a light on how, to this writers’ mind at least, binge-drinking is a creation of: heavy-handed licensing, last-order bells and drink-up times. This forces operators to come up with canny ways to eek as much out of their customers as possible.

Across Europe, bars open until late into the wee-hours; patrons drink at an elegant pace without the looming pressure of an abrupt end and leave when they feel ready to. Surely the equation is simple, but hey-ho?

Our Aperitvo currently runs from 5 – 6 pm every day we’re open. You can enjoy a delectable low-abv daily aperitif for just £4.50 (£3 off) and some free snacks, giving you something of both worlds.

Salut!
